Chris Gatton and Ted Yoder

Chris Gatton is a singer songwriter whose music rebels against almost any convention of what is generally accepted as music by a singer with a guitar. His bold approach to writing demonstrates a fearless approach to incorporating a wide range of inspirations while still respecting the deep traditions from which he draws. His songs possess great imagination and depth, but a slight lean into the absurd and irreverent keeps them from the trap of over sentimentality. As a performer, Chris’s unique voice and emotive guitar playing reach out and grab the listener by the heart, leaving each listener with a sense of connection that transcends the singular moment.

Chris is returning to Natalie’s to showcase with a very special project. While touring in Chicago, he met Ted Yoder. A few unforeseen circumstances led to the two of them playing together and unexpected sonic magic emerged as a result! He is excited to share the stage with Ted Yoder on the Music Hall stage.

Ted Yoder is a world-renowned musician, known for his groundbreaking and innovative approach to the hammered dulcimer, earning him the title “the Bela Fleck of the Hammered Dulcimer.”

In 2016, Ted gained widespread attention when his hammered dulcimer cover of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” became a viral sensation on Facebook, amassing over 100 million views.

Ted’s original compositions blend rock ‘n roll sensibilities and unmistakable innovation, creating deeply moving and joyous music that captivates audiences. His live performances are unforgettable, leaving audiences asking for encores and prompting presenters to “BRING HIM BACK!”

Ted Yoder has redefined what’s possible with the hammered dulcimer!
