Sylvester Stewart, aka Sly Stone, helped change the ‘70s music landscape with his psychedelic brew of funk and soul. Sly began his music career singing gospel with his brother Freddie, sisters Rose and Vaetta as The Stewart Four. Years later, he adopted the surname Stone and created his legendary soul-psychedelic funk sound as Sly and the Family Stone. He produced such hits as “Stand,” “Thank You (Falettinme B Mice Elf Agin),” “Everyday People,” “Sing A Simple Song”, “Dance to the Music”, “Hot Fun in the Summertime,” “I Wanna Take You Higher,” and “It’s a Family Affair.”
